Dirty Laundry -1982

This song is from the album, I Can't Stand Still. It was the debut album for Don Henley, as he was a huge part of the supergroup, The Eagles. The group had recently split, and everyone went their own way. The Eagles are now back together, here is their official website: click here)

The song, Dirty Laundry, was the first hit for him. It reached #1 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart, and #3 on the Hot 100.

The scan you see of Dirty Laundry, from Asylum Records (Canadian pressing). A lovely song called Lilah is on side B.

I have the LP, and it was a very good debut. Later on (1989) he came out with the album End of the Innocence. That to me is an excellent LP, and won the Best Rock Performance (Grammy).

Sweet Home Alabama - 1974

This was a huge hit for the band, Lynyrd Skynyrd in 1974. The song was taken from the album, Second Helping. It also appeared on the live LP, One More From The Road.

It is the classic southern rock song, and despite some political controversy it did well on the U.S. Charts. It reached # 8 on the charts.

The 45 version I have is the Canadian pressing, MCA 4025. It was produced by Al Kooper, longtime studio musician for many well known artists (such as Dylan). He was also the founding member of Blood, Sweet and Tears.

There is a Lynyrd Skynyrd history website, and it contains links to other sites: click here
